Set in the beautiful Blyth Valley, close to the spectacular Heveningham Hall, Willow Cottage stands within the extensive grounds of Willow Farm. Willow Cottage is well away from the road, standing in the middle of unspoilt Suffolk countryside with no near neighbours apart from Willow Farm house. It is approached by a long tree-lined drive that curves past the farm house and continues with a couple of twists and turns before reaching the cottage and large parking area. The Local Area
Heveningham – the nearest village – is an old, small hamlet with the very pretty church of St. Margaret. It is only a short walk to the village from where you can access the footpath network to travel further afield. The Huntingfield Arms is only a mile from Willow Cottage and has very good home-cooked food and is well worth a visit or two. Halesworth is the nearest town, being a little over four miles to the north-east. It is a lovely market town (market day every Wednesday) which is famous as a haven of Old England with its relaxing and friendly atmosphere. There is a good range of independant shops and a supermarket with petrol station. Further afield, on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, are Southwold, Walberswick and Dunwich as well as the nationally recognised Minsmere Nature Reserve. You can also easily reach Beccles for the Norfolk Broads. All these great places are within 20 to 30 minutes drive. About Willow Cottage
We are told that Willow Cottage was built some 50 years ago for the mother of one-time court couturier Digby Morton. Completely refurbished and modernised in 2007, the cottage now offers high quality accommodation, sleeping up to five people in three bedrooms. The cottage itself is approximately 100 yards from Willow Farm house and is completely self-contained, sitting in the middle of over 18 acres of woodland, fallow fields and gardens. As well as its own garden, Willow Cottage has access to the surrounding fields, one of which contains a wildlife pond (young children should be supervised in the fields due to the pond and to drainage ditches, which are ever present in the country side). The Cottage garden is child safe and includes a summer-house and patio area. There is a gas barbeque and also an outdoor wooden table with chairs and a parasol. Our Rooms and Facilities
All windows in the cottage enjoy uninterrupted views of the grounds. The Bedrooms The Twin bedroom is double aspect with French doors leading to a lovely raised patio area, from which steps lead down to the garden. The Sitting / Dining Room The Kitchen A further feature of the cottage is a sunny double aspect area for quiet relaxation with comfortable chairs near a well stocked bookcase and CD/radio player.
